Canucks 4-1 Win; Joshua, Lankinen Key

Dakota Joshua scored a goal and added an assist as the Canucks beat the Avalanche 4-1 in Colorado on Thursday night.

Kiefer Sherwood tallied the game winning goal and chipped in a helper as Vancouver won its final road game of the 2024-’25 season.

Kevin Lankinen made 31 saves in net for the win.

One down, three to go for the Canucks in terms of playing out the string.

Vancouver was officially eliminated the previous night when the Minnesota Wild defeated the San Jose Sharks 8-7 in overtime.

Only the Calgary Flames remain in the Western Conference as a team on the outside looking in that could bump up into a wild card spot. Although unlikely, five points behind both Minnesota and St. Louis, the Flames have a game-in-hand on the Wild and two on the Blues.

The BC Boys could do their Alberta neighbours a favour by beating Minnesota at Rogers Arena on Saturday night.

Vancouver improved to 37-29-and-13 on the season with the win in Denver.
