Canucks Lose Miller, Then Game 4-3

The Vancouver Canucks lost J.T. Miller on Tuesday morning to an unspecified personal leave of absence, and then lost 4-3 to the New York Rangers on Tuesday night.

It wasn’t for a lack of trying. It was a fast-paced, entertaining night of hockey at Rogers Arena.

Chris Kreider scored the game winner with 9:17 remaining in the 3rd period. It was the fourth time on the evening the Blueshirts took a one goal lead.

Daddy-to-be Conor Garland was the main catalyst for the Canucks. Having missed the morning skate with his wife due to give birth, it was originally thought the little winger wouldn’t be available for the game. Instead, he showed up and played inspired hockey, including tying the game 3-3 at the 13:02 mark of the 2nd period.

Quinn Hughes and Kiefer Sherwood also tallied for the home team.

Arturs Silovs took the loss in net for Vancouver, falling short of picking up his second win of the season. Igor Shesterkin notched the victory at the other end.

The Canucks finished their six-game homestand 2-and-4.
